If you are on the fence about the practice, you should give it a try for a couple of weeks. The benefits are astounding. It has been known to treat many mood disorders, improve brain plasticity, increase grey matter, improve sleep, help with impulsivity, increase attention, and strengthen working memory. Keep in mind that meditation doesn’t require you to sit there for 40 minutes, you can start with just a few minutes and work your way up to whatever feels comfortable. However, I do have to say that science shows that the biggest gains from meditation occur when someone is at it for at least 15 minutes. However, gains can still be seen with just 5 minutes a day.
